Over the last few weeks, lib dubs have taken over the interweb. For those of you who still don’t know what a lib dub is, it’s a type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. The most popular lip dubs are done in a single unedited shot that often travels through different rooms.

Recently, lib dubs made by students of different universities are hitting YouTube. The most popular one being the UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal) lib dub of “I got a feeling” of the Black Eyed Peas created by 172 communication students.

Another lib dub from Montreal was created by the students of the Law Faculty of the University of Montreal using “Pretty Fly” of Offspring.

But Montreal universities aren’t the only ones creating lib dubs. The french graduate school of management, ESSCA, created a lib dub based on the Grease movie soundtrack.

Hundreds of lip dubs can be found on sites like YouTube. Even the HR director were I work wants to do one for the office Christmas party!

What do you guys think of lip dubs? Are they here to stay?
